Project - Khudi Hydropower Headworks Model Study

Nature of Headworks Site: Boulder and gravel bed river
Project type: Run-of- river 4 MW hydropower
Model Study Year: 2002
Client: Khudi Hydro Power Limited
Model Scale: 1:30
Consultant: Gestion Conseil SCP inc, Canada
Model type: Fixed bed and undistorted

Objective:

The objective was to test and verify the performance of designed headworks with respective hydraulics and sediment transport and deposition.

Achievement:

This study saved the developer from the potential/investment failure of the proposed headworks. A new concept of headworks arrangement was developed and the test and modification finally provided a satisfactory headworks design concept.
